By
formal agreement with local French universities, the AUCP coordinates
optional enrollment for its students at the Université
de Provence, Les Beaux Arts or the Institut d’Etudes
Politiques.
Unlike most so-called direct enrollment programs, the AUCP does not work with the "institutes for foreign students" annexed to major French universities. AUCP participants, therefore, have the special opportunity to attend class alongside French students. This extremely challenging opportunity allows students to experience
from the inside an important aspect of French culture - the educational system.
The AUCP offers two direct enrollment options for students who meet the French Language Requirement (TEF - Level 5 or CEFR - Level C1).
The AUCP Direct option is for Spring and Full-Year students. Qualified students take two classes at the AUCP and three classes at l'Université de Provence. AUCP Direct students benefit from an authentic French classroom experience, as well as the on-going mentoring and development of intercultural skills offered by the AUCP Cultural Patterns course and its Practicum components: Individual Homestay placement, Community Service placement and additional integration strategies.
The AUCP Direct option may require the student to be present until the end of May for final exams. In this case, a supplementary housing fee of 20€ per night will be charged for the extended stay.
The second direct enrollment option is for students wishing to take full advantage of AUCP program offerings, while replacing one AUCP course with a course at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques or Les Beaux Arts.
Registration for university courses takes place on-site in consultation with the administration in Aix.
