With its commitment to the development of linguistic fluency and cross-cultural understanding, the AUCP provides students with a solid foundation for promising international careers. Secure in their knowledge of French, as well as their ability to observe, understand, and adapt to a cultural dynamic not their own, AUCP alumni seek out, find, and even attract rich, challenging, cross-cultural careers both at home and abroad.

AUCP students share an ambition to strengthen ties of communication through both language and respect for cultural difference. Program design and course offerings prepare students to go on in their lives to serve as bridges between peoples whose worldview and organizing values differ.
Be it in the reinsertion of the US homeless into the workforce, a teaching assistantship in a French high school, a marketing study in the Czech Republic, or a Peace Corp experience in francophone Africa, AUCP alumni excel in important missions both domestic and foreign.

Certificates of Achievement

The AUCP provides an authentically French academic and cultural experience for American college and university credit transfer. As an integral part of the AUCP programs, all students participate in pre- and post-semester testing in both French language acquisition and intercultural sensitivity development, and receive two internationally recognized certificates, the TEF (Test d’évaluation du français) and the IDI (Intercultural Development Inventory).

TEF (Test d’évaluation du français)
organized by the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

An internationally recognized certificate, TEF attests to French language competence according to norms set by the European Council, for employment in the Francophone world.

IDI (Intercultural Development Inventory)
created and distributed by Milton Bennett and Mitch Hammer, Ph.D.s

A highly reputed certificate, the IDI attests to cross-cultural competence, for employment in any and all international or culturally diverse settings.
