Lilli Engle

 

John Engle

AUCP President and On-Site Director, Lilli Engle was raised in Europe and America, where she completed Ph.D. course work in comparative literature at UCLA.  She is a member of the first Advisory Council  The Forum on Education Abroad and member of the Board of Advisors of Experiment in International Living (France).

Former president of the world’s largest home exchange network, HomeLink International, uniting representatives from 50 countries, Mme Engle is also an accomplished conference speaker and educator.  She has written on international education in Frontiers: The Interdisciplinary Journal of Study Abroad and the essay collection Rockin’ in Red Square: Critical Approaches to International Education in the Age of Cyberculture.

Lilli is the director of the AUCP and the founder and general manager of the American Center. Established in 1984, the American Center provides language instruction and continuing education for the French public and numerous corporate clients.



President of the AUCP Board of Advisors, John Engle is a leader in international education. A member of the editorial board of Frontiers: The Interdisciplinary Journal of Study Abroad, he has written on study abroad in The Chronicle of Higher Education, The American Students Guide: The Definitive Guide to Studying Overseas, and the Globalization and International Understanding.

Dr. Engle holds a Ph.D. from the University of California and has taught at UCLA, Occidental College, Illinois Wesleyan University and the Université de Provence.

Dr. Engle is currently a tenured faculty member at the Université de Toulon et du Var, where he is department director for ERASMUS student exchange.  In an advisory capacity, Dr. Engle brings his expertise to the conception and design of AUCP academic and cultural programs.


Board of Advisors

French professors from America's most respected universities collaborate with the AUCP in an advisory capacity.  Involved in outcomes assessment and curriculum integration, the Board of Advisors serves as an essential bridge between the AUCP program goals in France and the American university's commitment to international education.
